Canadian Climber Charles-Antoine Lanthier to Climb Mount Everest for Charity After Beating Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
CALGARY, ALBERTA — January 24, 2026 — Charles-Antoine Lanthier, a Canadian adventurer and cancer survivor, will attempt to summit Mount Everest in May 2026 in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, following his successful recovery from stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2025.
Diagnosed on New Year’s Eve 2024, Lanthier underwent 6 months of chemotherapy before being declared cancer-free in October 2025. The Everest expedition represents both a personal milestone and a fundraising mission to support cancer research.
“I’ve been chasing mountains a good part of my life.” said Lanthier. “Never did I know cancer would be my biggest mountain of all.”
“Climbing Everest isn’t about the summit. It’s about challenging myself to rebound higher than ever, showing what’s possible after cancer and giving back to the community.”
The expedition aims to raise $8,848 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, a dollar for each meter of Everest’s 8,848m elevation. Under the fundraiser name The Stage 4 to Camp 4 Project, funds raised will support lifesaving research, vital support programs and advocacy for the blood cancer community across Canada. Lanthier will document the journey to raise awareness about cancer survivorship, resilience, and the importance of early diagnosis and community support.
Lanthier’s climb will follow the classic South Col route, with the expedition lasting approximately 7 weeks, including acclimatization.
Supporters can follow the journey and contribute to the fundraising campaign at www.stage4tocamp4.com.
