THE FUNDRAISER
Raising $8,848 for 8,848 Meters
We’re raising a dollar for each meter of Everest’s total elevation! All for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLS).
Every dollar you give fuels lifesaving research, vital support programs and advocacy for the blood cancer community across Canada.
While Charles was fortunate in his misfortune to combat a curable Hodgkin lymphoma, there are 137 forms of blood cancers and related disorders covered by the LLS.
Aim for the summit & donate today!

THE ATHLETE
Meet Charles-Antoine Lanthier
Charles is a 37-year-old Canadian high-altitude climber, a paraglider pilot, and a Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer survivor. He thrives on outdoor adventure, especially in the high mountains. Hailing from Québec, he’s been calling Calgary home for the last 14 years, the perfect base camp for his passions.
He was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin lymphoma cancer on December 31st 2024 and beat the illness on October 7th 2025 some ten months later. He hasn’t let cancer keep him down and instead took on this new challenge with an impossibly optimistic attitude.
Not only is Charles now in full remission from his ordeal, but he also was instrumental in trialing a new chemotherapy treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma (Nivolumab-AVD) that was rolled out and covered for all Calgary patients following his experience.
This treatment offers high remission rates and lower side effects.
A TIMELINE
The Road to Everest
While Charles’ road to Everest started way before 2017, these high-altitude climbs in Asia’s Great Ranges of the past 8 years were instrumental to preparing him for this moment.

2017
Ama Dablam, 6,812m
Nepal
Often described as the “most beautiful mountain in the world”, Ama Dablam is a technical snow & rock climb in the Khumbu valley near Everest.
2022
Broad Peak, 8,053m
Pakistan
The 12th highest peak in the world, Broad Peak lies 8 km away from the legendary K2, surrounded by the jagged peaks of the Karakoram range.

2024
Kanchenjunga, 8,586m
Nepal
A thwarted attempt on the world’s 3rd highest peak. The expedition was fraught with snowy conditions and avalanche danger. The team was forced to turn around near 7,650m when an avalanche swept the fixed ropes ahead.
